This series will take you along on adventures as we head out to find all of the different activities and opportunities to truly experience the Okanagan.
This episode of Experience the Okanagan we gathered up 15 friends and cycled our way through the streets of downtown Kelowna with Smile Cycle Tours!
I first saw a quadricycle in Berlin about five years ago, and since then have always wanted to try it. Seeing the Smile Cycle tour around town here in Kelowna full of people having so much fun working together to get to their next destination, we decided we had to try it!
Stuart, founder of Smile Cycle Tours, was our driver and he made our experience so enjoyable. He had a lot of very interesting fun facts about the city, he kept us all dancing and singing with his wicked spotify playlists, and made every person on our tour feel welcome.
It was so much fun working as a team to move our vessel down the streets of Kelowna - we all knew when someone wasn’t pulling their weight!
One of the best parts about a Smile Cycle tour is that you can customize your tour however you want! They are known for their beer and wine tours, but they will also do city tours, food tours, pretty much any kind of tour you could ask for! The staff at Smile is very accommodating, and understand that not everyone is the same!
For our tour, we decided to stop at three local breweries that majority of our group had never visited. Our first stop was Kettle River Brewing which is located on Baillie Ave, where we pulled up to find a super cute patio with a pop-up ramen noodle trailer on site. Stuart gave us a quick rundown of what they offer, and his favourite drink of choice and we absolutely loved it!
Our second stop was at Red Bird Brewery, where we were welcomed with live music and a taco truck. What more could you ask for? This brewery, located on Richter St, was full of beer and cider lovers alike, with a cozy interior of all wood.
Our last stop of the tour was Tree Brewing, located on Water St, where we were able to walk along the boardwalk, try their award winning beers and play board games on their upstairs, open-air patio.
Our tour was about two hours long, and we had such a great experience. For those who aren’t interested in beer or wine, try out some ice cream shops or food trucks - the tours are fully customizable!
If you’re looking for a fun way to explore the city, get together with friends, and taste the food and drinks that Kelowna hot spots have to offer, than this is the perfect solution.
For as little as $37 per person, you can be cycling your way through the city with a personal driver, on a vehicle guaranteed to make you smile.
My favourite part? I got to visit two breweries that I have not even heard of! Get out and try something new with Smile Cycle Tours!
