The month of February is all about love! Despite the snow, you can always count on the romantic nature of Valentine’s Day to warm you up and keep things cozy.

Given that these last couple of weeks are some of the most romantic of year, we chose to focus our fashion column around the thing on a lot of women’s minds — Weddings!

Whether you’re recently engaged, in the midst of planning your special day or simply like to dream about all things bridal, we’ve teamed up with Cande Bridal Boutique, De Bloemist, BeYoutiful ArtistsKelowna Yacht Club, and four brides to be to show you the latest trends in gowns and flowers for the upcoming wedding season.

Timeless EleganceOur beautiful model Liz OWNED this dress and the rosey red lips that made her fiance first fall in love with her.

Perfectly hugging her curves, this floor-length mermaid gown from designer Enzoani, is guaranteed to stun.

A plunging sweetheart neckline, with quaint and sparkling rhinestones along it’s dainty spaghetti straps, paired with a breathtaking lace and tulle train — this dress had her feeling like an Old Hollywood starlet from head to toe.

The classic gown spoke volumes on its own and genius florist Nancy chose to keep things muted and classic.

With a desaturated bouquet of white roses and pops of green that tied it all together.

Cohesive Contrast

As an Interior Designer, our model Hannah is all about style and creating harmony between two contrasting tastes — and this A-line gown designed by Hayley Paige does just that!

Veering away from the traditional wedding dress with its off-white colour, deep V-neckline and keyhole, paired with Hannah’s platinum hair and red lip, gave an edgy and fun look up top.

While the blooming organza skirt below, and sparkling rhinestones throughout had us thinking ballerina princess!

Hannah may not be taking this dress home, but she already found the perfect one with Adrianna at Cande for her backyard wedding this summer.

Nancy paired this look with pastel pinks, blues and white along with a spherical shape adding in some retro flair.

Classic and RomanticNicole rocked this strapless fit and flare from Allure Romance as if it was made specifically for her.

Covered in lovely lace flowers from top to bottom, matched by its flattering silhouette a dress like this needs little to no explanation, and is one you’ll see coming down aisles for years to come.

This one is a shapeshifter. From a comfortable and modest to a show-stopping gown with the simple addition of a veil — this dress is perfect for those who have found their own harlequin romance.

Our bloom guru made this beauty truly pop with a mixture of classic white, purples and greens.

Pretty and Playful

Our adorable model Carolina had us looking at the cold February snow through rose coloured glasses with this fun, springtime look — perfect for her wedding in Columbia!

This flowy and layered gown, also designed by Hayley Paige, mixes together a variety of elements to create a playful yet gorgeous dress for the bride who likes to have fun.

From the Ivory stripes, and slit in the skirt to show some leg, to the off-the-shoulder sleeve and pleated lower half this dress will take you from aisle to dance floor and look flawless the whole way through.

Keeping with the spring vibes, Nancy paired this dress with pops of coral, deep pink, and whimsical leaves.

Apparel contributed for this edition comes from local retailer Cande Bridal with flowers from De Bloemist, hair and makeup provided by BeYoutiful Artists and a beautiful venue from the Kelowna Yacht Club.
